From the editor

Dear readers
Since Nato's missile attack on the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade on May 7, we have received several letters from foreign readers expressing anger and sorrow at this tragic event and offering condolences and support to the families of the three journalists killed as well as those injured. Two of those letters can be read on this page. At Beijing This Month, we would like to add our deepest sympathy for all the victims of this terrible tragedy, and wish for a speedy and peaceful resolution to this bloody conflict.

Sir or Madam,
I am really sorry for your loss last night due to the Nato bomb attack on your embassy in Belgrade. My father is one of the employees in the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade and I had the privilege to meet the ambassador last year.
I know how you must feel. I am just 14 years old, but I was in Belgrade for the first 30 days of war. Now I am staying with my aunt in London but my heart is in Belgrade. I hope this bombing will finish soon, without any more casualties.
Once again my deepest sympathy.
Yours Sincerely,
Viktor Lazic
PS. I want to thank Chinese people for their support, too. We appreciate that.

Dear Sirs,
On behalf of the Serbian people and on my own behalf, I wish to offer my sincere condolences to the families of victims of the Nato attack on the Chinese embassy in Belgrade and to the Chinese people.
Sincerely,
